What will be the trends for Spring Summer womens clothes

The last season’s trends had some fantastic new directions to enjoy for Fall and Winter fashion. There were strong emphasis on tartan prints, knit dresses, tulip and bubble skirts and fringing and lace for evening wear, amongst others. Key colours included teal, chartreuse, purple and greys, and tailoring was key – with references still in evidence to 80′s oversized shapes, sixties style shift dresses, and even overt 70′s peacock colouring and tailoring for maxi evening dresses. Pleats, box cuts, prom dresses and bubble skirts were also all over the high street – and the good news is that many of these items can still be incorporated into the new season looks!

This Summer, we are starting to see hints of what the new fashions will be – and there’s a huge range of things to get excited about! Winter’s metallics will be replaced by riviera shades and cool pastel and candy colours. Neutrals will also be a huge trend – best worked with bags and accessories rather than entire outfits, unless you favour a tan! Fringing and embellishments will continue to be worked on hems, edging and bags / jewellery, and folk embellishments and detailing will continue to be very much in evidence. Other interesting themes will be the Roman and Grecian theme, which were experimented with a few years ago – and strongly romantic looks will also be key for summer… think floaty tops, princess dresses and delicate and sparkling accessories. Accessories wise, we will be moving away from oversized tote bags, and returning to delicate clutches. Shoes will continue to feature mary-jane’s and round-toes, and it will be interesting to see if the “extreme” designer shoes of the Fall and Winter season will adapt for the softer and more informal summer season.

Of course, as with all new seasonal fashions, the latest ranges will sell out fast! So save yourself the trouble of trudging around the packed out high street of a Saturday, and enjoy a little leisurely online shopping. All the favourite high street and designer stores have an online presence, and you can also often find some great online discount voucher codes which aren’t always available “offline”.

Remember, fashion is about having fun and expressing yourself – so pick the trends which appeal to you, rather than worrying about which one is most suitable – and enjoy expressing yourself!
