All white – A clothing trend for this Summer
At first sight, white is difficult to wear. It’s easily getting dirty, it emphasizes bad skin in some cases, and it might even have a fattening effect. But what other color is more appropriate for the hot season? What other color looks this good against tanned skin and rejects the bright rays of sun? White has been really appreciated by designers during Summer, and many of them suggest all-white outfits for this season. And don’t think this style is reserved for the beach! On the contrary! You can get a cool, yacht look, or maybe an urban-chic outfit. The secret is to stay away from tight, synthetic fabrics, and choose fluid ones, with fluid cuts. Wide leg trousers with a loose, sleeveless top; a white maxi dress with some comfortable sandals; a cute mini and a simple tee, with just a hint of a print – these are all cute ideas for you to try out this summer.

Have a look at the spring-summer collections! We’ve seen white everywhere, a color so pure, yet so chic, that everyone wants to wear it!
Here are some ideas of what the designers and famous brands have in mind for summer 2011, and you can use these items is various combos, according to your own style. You can wear all-white outfits, navy combos or color blocking. Another advantage of white is that it goes well with any other color: from red and blue to gold or yellow.

The first piece that you need to invest in is a white top. The classic choice would be a masculine-inspired shirt, which you can easily combine with black bottoms and oxfords or with an ample skirt and a bow-tie or scarf. Another idea would be a sleeveless top, excellent for summer, like the one from Topshop. And because crochet is so incredibly popular right now, pick a cute crochet vest, like the one pictured above, from Delias – you could wear it over a dress or over a strapless top and, if you’re bold, even over a bra.

For the bottom part, the best choice this summer is a white, maxi skirt. You won’t feel the sun hit, you won’t burn your legs and you can move as easily as you want. Look at Mary and Paul or Modekungen for some examples. You can accessorise them with brown thin belts for a boho-chic look or you can wear a colored scarf around the waist. If mini is your favorite length, check out the skirt from Carven. And if you really want to show even more leg, pick a pair of short shorts, and wear them with gladiator sandals.

White dresses – dreamy! Not to be confused with bridal dresses! Every woman should own a white sundress and name it the perfect sundress. As this year maxi length is so popular, the Zara dress might just be your go-to item: with flats or wedges, belted or loose, with a sun hat and a colorful necklace – this dress is a must. But, again, if you prefer minis, have a look at Urban Outfitters, Topshop or, if you have some money to spend, designer Nina Ricci. We especially like the Topshop dress, since it’s crochet!

White shoes? Why not! We picked a selection of footwear for when you need to be comfortable: Masculine lace-up Topshop shoes, Kate Spade shoes with a feminine bow or cool Givenchy gladiator sandals. But no one says you have to stay on the ground this season: the Jeffrey Campbell wedge booties are crazily fashionable and edgy; and if you want something classic and classy, those Jimmy Choos are the pair for you.

Accessorise with white! That’s the slogan this summer. You can get a cool bag, like the fabulous Louis Vuitton or the elegant DSquared2. You can wear a white hat, or a hat with a white ribbon. If you like, get your own white turban by using an oversized scarf: it will protect your head from the sun and look incredibly stylish!
We also like white jewelry: pearls for evening and white beads for day! Earrings, bangles, statement necklaces, brooches. The floral brooch from Tasha Sinamay is quite a good choice, and you can wear it on your dress, top or bag.
