Spring Trends: Must-have looks

28 Feb 2012

Style manual to survive during the Spring season.

The Spring season is more and more close and, with new collections hitting the stores, it’s time to start to buy the items we will wear.

Fashion calendars are running at full steam. Fashion weeks in Madrid, New York, London, Milan, among others, allow us to see trends for next Winter in advance, but wait! It’s only February: Spring is starting next month… and next Winter is far far away, right? Here at NewClothing.CO, we want to add a touch of warmness so you can think in those beautiful days ahead and prepare your wardrobe by recalling the Spring-Summer 2012 trends that were showed on runways during past fashion shows… trends that will be “must-haves”; trends that have been included in almost every single fashion collection. Do you want to know them?

Spring Fashion Trends

Pastel colors -which are very popular in warm days- are very relevant in collections from important fashion houses like Louis Vuitton, Jill Stuart -with the collection called Pretty Pastel-, Mulberry, or Blanco. On the other hand, the colour block trend, although decreasing, is still present, as well as the classic navy trend with a reinvented style.

Special neck styles are another important “must-have” for this Spring. Close collars and Peter Pan style collars encourage us to wear in a moderated way; and  they are strong contenders of those daring necklines that are typical during the Summer season. In addition, dresses longer at the back are getting more and more accepting now: Have you heard about tail hems dresses?

The dandy style prevails with boyish looks in jackets, vests, and short pants. But, if you want to look really feminine, then you should try a preppy look  with an Upper East Side style: That’s becoming more and more trendy. Is it possible that Blair Waldorf has become a true style icon?

For the more sporty women, another of the fashion trends is the one inspired by typical outfits to practice golf which will become more urban during the Summer days. Also, the naif style will be present, especially in accessories and complements. Besides, the combination of prints with a baroque-rock style -no doubt- is going to be important in the upcoming days.

Following, we show you some possibilities and suggestions to update your wardrobe for the next season. Take a look at the pictures. And if you have your own suggestions, please let us know in the comments.

Try combining prints without following rules. Flowers are the rock stars of the warm days and can be combined eclectically without dependence on size, style, shape or color. From the pastel colors to stronger tones. Try mixing gaudy and eye-catching colors in a block pattern… that way you will be joining to the colour block club. The navy trend is also very popular every year in Summer. Navy stripes are still trendy and a prevalent feature of many collections for the warmer months. However, this season, the classic white and blue combination is less prominent to make space for other reinvented versions. In the picture: A look from Juicy Couture; monochromatic long dress from Cheap Monday available in Asos; navy dress from Mango; short with red stripes from TopShop; wedge sandal in red and metal-like silvered color from Bimba & Lola.
