Roberto Cavalli dresses and more: delirium of colors and optimism

The Roberto Cavalli spring-summer 2009 collection has stimulated the search for associations and references, so fashionistas can understand the sources of inspiration.
Some people are evoking associations with the exotic and sophisticated Morocco, a place that reminds us of renegade writers. Other people are evoking the San Francisco’s hippie scene in the 1960s. Anyway, “Bohemian Safari” (with loose fitting or tight designs and fantastic colors) was the concept the brand developed for designing its collection this season.
Caftans and tunics made of sheer chiffon, with bright colors and animal prints, with hoods and butterfly sleeves. They were the proposals for bohemian women who are obviously more interested in exposing their artistic preferences and relaxed personality than exposing their bodies. For the most sophisticated ones, the options are elegant dresses that are tight on torso, wide skirts, sheer skirts, strapless necklines, one shoulder necklines, and halter necklines with uncovered back.
As an option for the night, the black color is also present in this collection. This color was used on asymmetric cuts and tight garments. For casual occasions, there are other options such as tops with miniskirts accentuated by founces, silk mini dresses in bright colors or with prints in pastel colors. Besides, it is possible to choose between a great variety of items: short or long white dresses made of wool crepe, hippie shirts, ankle-length skirts and outfits that include jackets in white or sand color and pants, which are adorned with cut outs and fringes. The collection also include some garments made of corduroy and leather with metallic studs and other decorations, which are features that denote the abilities of Florentine craftsmen.
