Renovate your wardrobe to receive the good weather
Summer is about to arrive and here we give you some tips, so you can prepare your wardrobe for the hot season.
The first thing you have to do is to open the mind to brighter colors. Your wardrobe should say goodbye to dark tones, at least until next winter. To replace them, acid tones are coming: from lemon-yellow to jungle green; also, there are other colors that will be in fashion for the coming season such as fresh colors (blue and pink), pure white, and navy blue for those who love the sailor look, which is reinvented each season. Take into consideration, as reference, the cheap & chic version Mathew Williamson has designed for H&M or the elegant Chanel 2009-2010 cruise collection Karl Lagerfeld introduced recently in Venice.
The jungle will invade your wardrobe through ethnic prints and animal prints, and flowers will add a Caribbean touch to bring to light again a style that was in fashion in past seasons. Sheer dresses in every possible length, very cool tunics, semitransparent fabrics like gauze… How can you complement them? No doubt: with one-color accessories, wood, terracotta and copper tones, some jeans, or garments in neutral colors (for instance, white) and a lot of happiness! You can be inspired by the collections that have been introduced by the big fashion houses and designers such as Gucci or Matthew Williamson.
Mini-dress will be another “must-have” for summer. Mini-dresses look good in all their shapes and colors, but it’s important that you don’t become shy about showing your legs. Designers are saying good-bye to the childish “baby-doll look” that was a hit last summer and now they are preferring to use more suggestive concepts. Strapless necklines, asymmetric designs, a renovated Greek style, draped dresses, dresses decorated with beaded jewelry… everything with a style that represents femaleness in a pure state. The only requirement is those dresses must be shorter than knee-length. Of course, you must be careful of not being too extreme. Balmain, Chanel, Dior or Zara (yes, even Zara) have figured out how to reinvent the mini-skirt once more, and they have done it in a great way.
How to get a great look this season? Once again, accessories are key. No doubt, accessories are really important to define your style, and they will be able to transform the dress that you wear to go to work into a sophisticated night dress. Belts, necklaces, headdresses, earrings, or rings (all in large-size versions) will be a good way to get a great look. This summer, excesses are not only allowed, but also required to look good! The ethnic concept inspired by African cultures, the extreme fashion of the 1980s, precious and semi-precious stones… This summer, the fashion is suitable only for the most daring women.
