MIU MIU dresses and more: Fall Winter 2010/11 – París Fashion Week
Lindsey Wixson was in charge of opening the fashion show to introduce the new Miu Miu collection. The 15 years-old model is the current image of the younger clothing line from the Prada fashion house and the perfect incarnation of the collection essence. The 1960s, with a touch of romance and innocence represented by Twiggy, were the focus and the inspiration source for Miuccia Prada in this Fall Winter 2010/11 collection. The most important color is black, which prevails in the whole collection, but it is also complemented by other colors like orange, lilac, purple, and nude colors.
The fashion parade began with coats and black mini-dresses with ultra high and very unexpected collars. Regarding dresses, flared hips and incrusted cloth flowers were remarkable things. Some dresses included pleated shoulders and were worn with belts.
Shapes were straight and refined. Skirts and coats had big patch pockets with rounded edges. Close to the end of the fashion show, dresses became more provocative, with very noticeable U-shaped necklines and strips covering the chest. Also, when the fashion show was ending, embroideries and flower appliques were more prominent, even with fabrics full of flower ornaments performed finely.
This is a very juvenile Miu Miu collection but without the crazy prints that characterized the Spring / Summer 2010 collection.
