It has been some time ago since masculine fashion has little to envy to women’s fashion with regard to variety and available products, even though men usually don’t use as much clothes and accessories as women. In this post, we present a summary of the main trends for this year from well-known designers according to their latest collections. Olympic Symbols and Logos

 

Men’s fashion is unthinkable without including sports in some way. Specially, when the Olympic Games will be celebrated in London during 2012. T-shirts, nylon coats, and sport jackets for running are part of the basic equipment of sportsmen. Prada offers multi-colored golf shoes; Frankie Morello, for his part, opted for including cyclist tights in his collection; meanwhile, Moncler Gamme Bleu has introduced clothing pieces that look like fencing items. Likewise,  British fashion designer Vivienne Westwood wants to transform any man into a true winner with some T-shirts which feature prints of medals.

 

Eco-chic

Fashion of this year will combine ethnic designs with  ecological features and with a marked trend to use some cloths such as linen or batik prints. At the same time, Spring will arrive together with thick wools as well as shirts with blurred prints or themes inspired by the nature.  Ecological items for men combine, for example, a dungaree with a jacket. The ethnic element is added by exotic prints, but also by some safari jackets.

Colors

Blue will prevail in a significant part of  masculine apparel in 2012. TextilWirtschaft -the German magazine specialized in Fashion- headed an analysis of trends for Spring / Summer during this year and one of the most important trends was called blue man. It’s a color that will appear in almost all its shades and tonalities on many clothing pieces.

Colored Shirts

 

 

Shirts offered for the coming Summer are an authentic color explosion. Versace, for example, revives those baroque prints which was an important feature when Gianni Versace became a famous designer in the past. Etro opted for sea themes and Prada prefers comic figures; meanwhile, Moschino chose designs wih palm trees and Belgian fashion designer Dirk Bikkembergs opted for prints with juicy tomatoes.

A long time ago, handbags were something exclusive for women. But nowadays, men are interested more and more in them. So, the genres are leveling but men have very defined preferences. This way, Jil Sander has included bags for carrying an iPad and other tablet computers.

Besides, the latest trends suggest bags for the modern man which have been designed for specific ocassions and uses, including huge bags for those men who like to shopping or very attractive backpacks.  The collections for 2012 also keep into account those men who prefer a ritzy executive bag or a practical trolley bag. You can find an appropriate bag for any look.

Shiny Effects for Accessories

It’s a fact that fashion is not always according with the political, economic or social moment in the world. And, in these tough times, it’s heartwarming to have colored, shiny, and a little extravagant effects attached to the accessories for men. We will see some fabrics such as patent leather, glazed prints, and gaudy colors. In the end, men can wear them as they want but, as usual, moderation is key.

Knit Fabric and Leather: A Perfect Combination

Those who like to use leather jackets, but during cold season can’t resist the opportunity to wear a good jersey, are lucky this time. Looks that combine knitted items with leather will be an important trend for 2012. That is a perfect combination that can be used exhaustively during the rest of this Winter.

Short Pants

Don’t worry about the cold days. Fashion trends for 2012 are thought to be comfortable enough and, of course, there are items for Summer and others specially designed for Winter. However, if you are one of those guys who only wear long and warm pants, maybe this trend is not for you. Short pants will be present in 2012 in a strong way. Of course, they are more appropiate for Summer. And there will be varied styles with normal cuts, knee-lenght, or with a hemmed and casual look.

Corduroy is in Fashion

No doubt, corduroy is one of the star fabrics for cold days. And, if you already have some pieces made of this fabric in your wardrobe, then you should take maximum advantage of them because this year it will be trendy in a lot of styles. The only thing you need is to find the appropriate jacket for each occasion, including casual styles as well as jackets for elegant and formal events. The choice is up to you.
