Ladies dresses in black for a gala full of awards
The 81st Academy / Oscar Awards ceremony reminded us the glamour that marked the Golden Age of Hollywood, since many celebrities had a great preference for formality by wearing clothes in white and black. In general, this time the stars changed their colored and ostentatious clothing of previous ceremonies. Instead, they had a more sober style this year.
Some stars (like Angelina Jolie) have demonstrated once again that they doesn’t need many things to be the prettiest stars. For example, Angelina chose a black strapless dress by Elie Saab, which was well-complemented by her impressive Lorraine Schwartz emerald earrings matching with her ring.
Other famous stars also followed this trend to attend the Oscars and the Vanity Fair Oscar Party. Madonna, Halle Berry, Sharon Stone, Salma Hayek, Vanessa Hudgens, and Victoria Beckham, among other celebrities, were seen with a very sober look in black, which never go out of fashion. Certainly, black color has been very important for some fashion muses like Coco Chanel and Audrey Hepburn, who made history by using the little black dress to attend a lot of events.
Victoria Beckham surprised us with a dress from her recently presented autumn collection. Meanwhile, Sharon Stone opted for a racy, lacy creation by Christian Dior (pre fall 2009) and Madonna arrived at the 2009 Vanity Fair Oscar Party while she was wearing a classic black dress by Christian Dior (from the Spring ’09 collection), which was a little sheer but not completely see-through.

I love Angelina in this piece, I’m seeing this pic everywhere. Not sure what Sharon was thinking in this one. Just shows the LBD makes the best of any body type or style, even the bizzarre.
