Kids Fashion Trends 2012: What They Will Wear in Spring [Pictures]
17 Feb 2012
The nice weather is coming and we have to start thinking about the clothes for the smaller people of our house, because they also like to look good and trendy. Exhibitions of childish fashion in Valencia (Spain), Florence (Italy) and London (UK), with a prominent presence of European companies, showed us which are the trends for the Spring / Summer 2012 season. Acid colors and nice details in raspberry, pink or red will be the Summer shades accompanied by navy looks and prints. Do you want to know more?
A few days ago we knew about a fantastic fair in Spain about clothing for kids. That was a successful exhibition and was called Little Barcelona 2012
. And, actually, this type of fairs is a demonstration of how kids are becoming a powerful segment in Fashion industry. In this post, we are going to check out some main trends from childish collections for the Spring / Summer 2012 season. In the case of Little Barcelona 2012
fair, we could see a big European influence in the fashion shows. Also, the fashion fair had the collaboration of Nieves Alvarez
, a beautiful and prestigious Spanish model. Little Barcelona 2012
included 29 Spanish companies (like Boboli
, DC Kids, Mayoral…) whose fashion shows introduced a wide range of items: Sport clothes, details that resemble surfing, a prominent presence of jeans, and gaudy colors such as red and raspberry.
At the shows of fashion for kids in Florence and Valencia, designer Calvin Klein opted for denim short skirts and, especially, for the navy (or marine) look, while Guess, the American clothing line brand, opted for a more casual style with wide T-shirts, jeans, and, particularly, for a cooler more surf-style.
On the other hand, the combination of 3/4 length trousers (or short pants) with jerseys in acid colors and striped polo shirts will be a remarkable trend in Summer, as well as printed cloths and 1960s looks, balloon skirts, and baggy trousers from Custo Growing and Boboli collections.
At the Bubble London
trade show, designs had an urban touch, with acid colors for children of between 2 and 10 years old, while we could see more traditional colors, hand knitted items, and high-quality clothing pieces for babies.
This year, the trends indicate that kids will wear bold colors, prints, and urban looks. So, if we are parents, we need to think about those original accessories we can find to complement the look of our children. It’s better if we start now to prepare the wardrobes; after all, the warm days are just around the corner.
