Juicy Couture Look Book

There is a 10 years difference of age between the two stars featured in the latest Juicy Couture campaign, and yet the difference is hardly noticeable.

The youngest of the two, Swedish Frida Gustavsson, is only 18, and has already worked campaigns for Marc Jacobs, Anna Sui, H&M, Jill Stuart,  Max Mara and Prada. Not to mention the multitude of designers she has walked for: Chanel, Lanvin, Oscar de la Renta, Michael Kors, Versace, Ralph Lauren, Yves Saint Laurent and basically every major designer out there. For the Spring 2010 season, she was one of the most requested models for the catwalks.

Shannan Click, on the other hand, born in 1983, is more known for the Victoria’s Secret shows. Her campaigns are rather high street than high fashion, and they include Pepe Jeans, GAP, H&M, Levi’s, Wonderbra, Abercrombie & Fitch, Mango, Tommy Hilfiger and Biotherm. The girl-next-door kind of beauty, Shannan was born in California and is represented by Women Management, New York.

The look book was shot by Claudia Knoepfel and Stefan Indlekofer, who also photographed the fall campaign for Escada and had several successful collaborations with Vogue Germany. The look book is fun and colorful, with the models looking like real people having fun.

The clothes are casual, including lots of denim and the brand’s signature graphic tees. Such prints from “Juicy Couture”, “J’adore couture”, “Eau de Juicy”, “Couturist”, “Keep it juicy”, “Je t’aime” or “Eau de Couture”, mix French fashion terms with English, while also raising brand awareness. The brand’s trademark is to mix casual sportswear with high-fashion inspired items, creating cool, fashionable looks that are comfortable at the same time.

This season’s look at Juicy Couture is marked by layered accessories. Accordingly, the models are wearing up to five necklaces at a time, creating a real remarkable effect accompanied by watches and bracelets on the same wrist and several rings on the fingers of one hand. They’re also wearing more than one bag at a time, but that’s not really something that you can take and apply in real life.

As usual, the accessories are shiny and colorful, and this includes candy colored bags, golden necklaces, glittery or sequin party clutches, diamond-like earrings, animal print, charm bracelets, golden and silver watches, fashionable prints like perfume bottles and handwriting, friendship bracelets and cuffs, and even glittery iPhone cases. Like they usually do, Juicy Couture also has a small line of key-chains  with cute charms, like hearts and friendship messages, food and sweets, and other fun symbols. Sunglasses are a fall must at Juicy Couture, oversized and dark. The shoes collection includes colorful sneakers, as well as studded ballet flats, interesting ankle boots and long boots, lace-up heels and heeled loafers.

Moving on to the garments, you’ll find lots of prints: florals, leopard, stripes and polka dots. In the look book, floral dresses are layered with tights and faux-fur coats, while pussy bow tops are striped and worn with skinny jeans. We love the mixture between soft fabrics and contrasting faux fur, whether it’s a coat over a dress, or a vest over a blouse or jumper worn with skinny jeans. Outerwear includes boyfriend and fitted blazers as well, and you can also find short capes and jackets.

Knitwear is also available, because, well, it’s a fall collection! The lengths and shapes vary, so you can find something for everyone: a simple waist-length cardie in grey, an oversized ethnic cardigan that you can easily wear as a coat, striped or leopard print pullovers and so on.

Fashionable style

As for bottoms, as mentioned before, there are lots of jeans: skinny, boot-cut or the classic straight leg.  However, you can find other pants too (cargo pants, cuffed trousers), and you can pick from several types of shorts and mini skirts.

For leisure time, there are plenty of hoodies and sweatpants that you can wear inside or when you exercise, most of which have glittery inscriptions with the brand’s name and slogans. These are really comfortable and cozy to wear, but they keep you warm as well.
