Jean / Denim: Jean Paul Gaultier re-created Levi’s classic clothing pieces
French designer Jean Paul Gaultier, who is known as “L’enfant Terrible”, has carried out a collaborative project with the jeanswear brand Levi’s. Some weeks ago, the result was presented to the fashion followers and some media of the fashion world. All the new clothing pieces are now available on a global level. This collaboration produced a set of products that is intended to be a remarkable collection in the fashion world, especially in the jeanswear segment.
The famous haute couture designer re-created some well-known products of this important brand for the Spring-Summer 2010 collection, including both the feminine line and masculine line. Levi’s 501 Jeans and the renowned leather Trucker jacket were transformed, not only into catwalk pieces, but also into clothing pieces which work well as streetwear and for daily use.
Recognized celebrities such as the famous Barbadian R&B singer Rihanna are already wearing these re-created garments designed by Gaultier.
With this initiative, the brand Levi’s demonstrates once again that the fashion world is unlimited and that it is possible to reinvent every product (including the most classic and traditional elements) in order to transform them into remarkable new products that can catch the attention of daring fashionistas.
