Halter necks for vintage wedding gowns
Why not having a 50′s touch for our wedding dress? Nowadays, the fashion designers are recovering a style that was popular in the 1950s, but they add interesting and sophisticated features. One of those “recovered features” are halter necks, which were in fashion in the middle of the 20th century and now are back again.

We remember Marilyn Monroe: one of the most popular images about her is the scene where she is standing over the street grating and the air is blowing her skirt up, allowing us to see her beautiful legs (oh yeah! very sexy legs!) from the movie “The seven year itch”. That was a halter neck dress with a single strap around the neck, uncovered shoulders and back.

Well, nowadays a considerable number of designers have adapted this vintage look to their last collections with some variations and different and suggestive styles. Of course, all of them try to add a sophisticated touch, which is an important point when they are designing wedding gowns.

A strap around the nape, with laces and semi-precious stones can decorate the bride’s neck. In this way, this part of the body will look beautiful and it is not necessary to add other jewels on the neck because the semi-precious stones are enough. Designer Jesús Peiró, is one example of this trend. Nowadays, he is one of the most important designers of bridal gowns and wedding dresses.
