Gucci Sustainable Soles Footwear will be launched at the end of June 2012 – (FIRST PICTURES)
Since last year, Gucci has been working strongly to produce eco-friendly accessories. The brand continuing with its environmental commitment released a new compact sustainable packaging recently. This made part of a worldwide eco-friendly program intended for reducing the impact of fashion industry on the environment.
Gucci first released its packaging for products like shoes and bags and now, it has been extended towards eyewear. Besides that, the brand have already launched a first eco-friendly eyewear collection. In that opportunity Gucci used “liquid wood” to produce wonderful sunglasses.
Frida Giannini, the Creative Director of the Italian fashion house, has announced that Gucci Fall 2012 Collection will include a special eco-friendly edition with shoes for women and men. The new line is inspired by the Copenhagen Fashion Summit.
The shoes will be fabric in bio-plastic essentially in models like sandals and flats for women and ankle boots for men. All shoes will keep the unmistakable logo of this fashion house (GC).
The ankle boots for men will use bio-rubber and lamb leather that is made with sustainable products. The tongue of the ankle boots will be made with recycled polyester.
The Italian fashion house has released with this announcement a preview where we can see flats in colors like black, white, red, tan, gold, gray and brownish-red with the great GC logo as accessory.
At the end of this month we will know all the models that are going to be part of this special edition. The collection will be available in both brick-and-mortar and online store.
Gucci has introduced a five year plan in order to reduce carbon emissions to sourcing of raw materials.
