Giorgio Armani men - Autumn-Winter 2009/2010

Now it’s the turn for the Giorgio Armani Autumn-Winter 2009/2010 collection.

No doubt, it is possible to distinguish three “leitmotifs” in this new collection:

* The electric yellow color which is present through the whole collection. It is combined with other more basic colors such as black or a wide variety of shades of white.

* This year, the designs included in the Giorgio Armani Autumn-Winter collection are wider and more comfortable. This feature makes the collection a little more informal when it is compared to collections of recent years.

* And, as the final leitmotif, the collection uses mainly two kinds of materials: Synthetic-plastic materials and some special leathers and fabrics such as velvety leather, suede, and corduroy.

If you don’t have a gabardine, you should get one soon. That is still one of the must-have garments of the cold seasons. This time, Giorgio Armani offer us two main options:

- The first one is a strong, wide, open and very long gabardine that maximizes the movement freedom of the body.

- And the second option is a little more discreet and classic gabardine with a more reduced size. Also, it is more narrow than the previous one. In fact, we could say it is a close-fitting garment (especially in the waist area), thanks mainly to a belt made of the same material than the gabardine which can be adjusted on the hips by using a bowknot.

In addition, the collection also includes gabardines in light colors, beige, and ivory white. However, these other gabardines are much stronger. And they can protect us from the cold weather effectively because they are covered by leathers and fabrics such as the ones we’ve mentioned.

Of course, there are traditional jackets, too. They have classic designs without zippers because they are intended to be worn in an open way. And they will be available in navy blue and black.

As for sweaters, those in yellow are a fundamental part of the collection. And actually,  the persistent use of colors such as yellow and white is one of the main peculiarities that Giorgio Armany has implemented in this Autumn-Winter collection.

Regarding the pants, they are usually very wide with an informal appearance and have open hems. However, there are some exceptions like the yellow pants we can see in the picture: It has a shorter distance between waist and crotch and is a little tighter.

As for footwear, we will be able to find a wide variety of shoes with many designs available, although we can say that the nautical style and the desert boots are two predominant styles.

Lastly, as for accessories, the collection includes mainly gloves, but also there are some foulards and scarves.

In conclusion: This is a very varied collection with a combination of styles. And those styles will allow you to get dressed in an elegant and informal way at the same time. However, suits and gabardines are the strong points of the collection.
