Fashion trends: the best of the 080 Barcelona Fashion – Autumn-Winter 2009/2010

“080 Barcelona Fashion”  is an event aimed to provide a platform that promotes the emerging and independent fashion talent and brands in Barcelona (Spain). This event ended last week (in its third edition) and it  had the participation of about 20 designers from several parts of the world. Here is a short summary of the most outstanding designs shown in this event.

No doubt. One of the most outstanding designers who participated in the fashion shows is Mark Fast, a 29 year-old Canadian designer who studied at Central Saint Martins and worked for Lanvin before creating his own company. With his sexy dresses, he has nothing to envy from other designers like Balmain, Leger or Alexander Wang.

aminaka-wilmont

Aminaka / Wilmont is a London design duo comprising Maki Aminaka (Löfvander) & Marcus Wilmont. They are two designers with origins from Denmark and Japan. Their creations reminds us the Peter Pilotto designs, although, of course, Aminaka / Wilmont have their own original inspiration.

Here, we can see some Pelican Avenue designs. Pelican Avenue is a Belgium-based fashion label created by Austrian designer Carolin Lerch. Her creations are original, but maybe she has some influences  from other designers like Alexander McQueen or Duro Olowu. Her designs are very appropriate for a London Fashion Week edition.

And here, designs from Zazo & Brull , which is a Spanish duo (from Catalonia). They use wool on their creations in masterful way. Again, some designs remind us the collections from other famous designers. For example, in this case, they remind us the Josep Font collection for last winter.

Elena Martin (also known as Martin Lamothe) is an excellent Spanish designer. Her proposals for next winter are inspired by the American West and classic movies like “The Assassination of Jesse James”  or “Paris, Texas”.

“El Delgaldo Buil”  was also at this event. It is the creative partnership between designers Anna Figueroa Delgado and Macarena Ramos Buil. These designers were seen wearing wonderful garments  from their own inspiration.

And finally, Bambi by Laura. It is a Barcelona-based fashion label and its creations are designed by Laura Figueras. She worked for Preen and currently is involved in designing a collection for TopShop. Her designs are extraordinary.
