Fashion designers: Top 10 better spring-summer 2009 collections

Luella: This is a really chic collection. Very festive and feminine. Definitely this collection is not sickly sweet, nor old fashion, nor insipid.

Halston collection is not the most amazing but it is interesting. It is based mainly on sheer asymmetrical tunics in vivid colors. Wonderful!

Consuelo Castiglione is an interesting woman and her collections reflects her personality. Marni collection for spring-summer 2009 has a sort of “Italian nerd” style. Although this collection shows a trend that is not easy to follow, the superposition of garments and the combinations of fabrics, colors and prints are great.

Stella McCartney has achieved a particular and well-known style that is acclaimed by celebrities and real women. Actually, there are a lot of replicas of her collections in low-cost stores.

Christophe Decarnin, Balmain‘s main designer, is not maybe a sewing genius, but he is a great visionary in fashion business. His collection for spring-summer 2009 is comprised of easy and recurrent looks, but they are totally attractive and really sexy.

Bottega Veneta is a manufacturer with a sober and traditional spirit. Its collection has fine fabrics that are very well used in a soft and delicate palette of colors.

Emanuel Ungaro has merit with the collection designed by Esteban Cortazar. Beautiful and exotic prints.

The American fashion stylist L’Wren Scott presented a satisfying collection derived from his clear and focused vision of fashion.

Christopher Kane spring 2009 collection seems experimental, but it has credibility. Kane used a scales universe and animal-spot prints in a futuristic version.

Lastly, but not least, here is included Hervé Léger by Max Azria. The pastel colors look great in this collection, which has a variety of interesting designs of mini dresses.

Its amazing how fashion designs repeat themselves. I see so many of the same lines and colors on the runway that we saw back in the late ’80s and early ’90s. I’m really waiting to see this years break thru designer for the fall winter season.
