Alexander McQueen: RIP.

On March 9th, Alexander McQueen was going to present his new Fall/Winter 2010-2011 collection within the ambit of the Paris Fashion Week. At this time, it is not known whether  the fashion show will be carried out or whether this event will be canceled. Anyway, all of the attention is being focused on his last creations.

This week was a really black week in the fashion history.

Hardly four months have passed since Alexander McQueen, the well-known “enfant terrible” of the  British fashion, carried out his most sublime creativity exercise. And now, his designs take on a very special meaning.

His Spring/Summer 2010 collection was introduced during the past edition of the Paris Fashion Week, winning the recognition of critics and contributing to the pages of fashion history with a series of remarkable dresses.

In that occasion, McQueen presented a fashion show with models who were wearing mini-dresses with electric prints (like elegant dragonflies) as well as with very structured and refined styles: A great combination of fantasy, science fiction, and surrealism. Some amazing but very unconventional designs were included in this collection; at first sight, they seems unrealistic but, if we are open-minded, then they might be excellent choices for attending a very special event. Regarding footwear, he showed some spectacular (and rare) “armadillo” shoes with exquisite architecture, very long heels, and a boot-shaped design. Definitively, Alexander McQueen was a fashion genius.
