Fashion collections: GAP - Autumn-Winter 2009/2010

This year, the American clothing retailer GAP introduced its Autumn-Winter 2009/2010 collection with the collaboration of some well-known people in the fashion world. Among those people who collaborated in the campaign were several models, including Anja Rubik (from Poland), Maryna Linchuk (from Belarus), and Du Juan (from China), among others.

In this collection, jeans are prevailing. For this reason, there is a lot of options for jeans lovers, ranging from tight to loose. The most extreme examples of this variety of jeans in the GAP collection are: The “boot-cup” (or bell-bottom) jeans which are the jeans with the largest dimensions; and the “perfect skinny” jeans which, as the name suggests, are adapted to thinner legs.

Besides the dimensions, there is also a number of varied colors and tones. Worn-out denim jeans are definitely a trend for the upcoming season and GAP included them. On the other hand, ripped jeans are not a main feature of this collection, except when they are worn by Anja Rubik: In the picture above, the model poses wearing a jean that has several rips.

Another trend that GAP wants to follow in this new collection is the use of khaki garments. There is a part of the GAP collection that is focused on promoting this “khaki-style” by including pants and shorts in earth colors combined with upper garments in white such as shirts, and tops, among others. Some boots and accessories like belts (also in earth colors) are the perfect complement for this look.
