Family Affairs – Spring Summer 2011 – The Lookbook

Kaya and Nina Egli, mother and daughter, are the owners of Family Affairs, a brand with stores in the U.S., Japan, Switzerland and France. Nina lives in New York, while her mother lives in Switzerland, and their partnership has successfully developed at a distance.

The spring-summer 2011 collection reveals a delicate, yet comfortable style, with wearable pieces that still have an edge. For example, the baby blue ensemble in the first picture, is actually a shirt and a pair of shorts, but the similarity in color makes them look like a playsuit. Then we have the black dotted dress: it’s design is simple and rather retro – midi length, long sleeves, decent neckline – but it is made of sheer chiffon, which makes it really sexy. The party dress of this collection (see below, last image) is long and delightful, with a princess feel and an open back, with straps crossing. Combined with the lilac sandals, it looks rather cool than elegant.

The entire collection comes with see-through details, delicate lacey fabrics and comfortable cottons. Tunics, dresses and shorts – these are all perfect for the upcoming season and will be great additions to your wardrobe. You can mix them with over-the-knee sheer socks, masculine flats or pastel platforms, and definitely sunglasses.
