Summer trend 2012: Mint color

The so-called mint color, which is a shade of green in the range of pastel colors that is being really popular this season, has arrived strongly for this Summer. It’s a soft color that can be combined with other colors easily. From runways to the streetstyle, and from the streetstyle to stores, the mint color is a must-have right now.

We already saw this pastel color on runways during fashion shows of fashion houses and designers such as Rochas or David Delfin. Many others designers have also joined to this fashion trend with this trendy color, even with total looks in this color. 3 Fake Myths of Fashion – Spring-Summer 2012

Sometimes, fashion is contradictory and, actually, it’s very common to find “trendy” styles that are a real contradiction one in front of the other, even if they are thought for the same season.  One day the fashion trends tell  us that we should wear what  yesterday was an awful thing and the next day  a new trend suddenly emerges as a “must-have” but, three months later, it will be called “outdated”.  All that is horrible for fashion victims who are trapped by a crazy vicious circle of “buying –> storing –> throwing away –> buying again…“.

For that reason, not being a fashion victim is something that you should be proud of, because you can find smarter ways to invest your money instead of wasting a little fortune on clothes every week. And, if you are totally apathetic toward following fashion trends, congratulations! (but,  why are you reading a fashion blog?)… But, seriously, are you a fashion hater or fashion lover?  Moreover, can we divide people into fashion lovers and fashion haters?… And by the way, is there a sort of conspiration where a group of big brothers from the fashion corporations -usually with unknown name- foresee and decide how people should look? Are fashion victims only useful fools to set trends of an industry that just wants more and more money? Who decides what is old-fashion and what is trendy anyway?
