The clothes are more formal, with sophisticated design, and they have lines for women, men and children. Massimo Dutti is on the market since 1985, and has later on (in 1991) been acquired by the Spanish fashion group. They now have stores in over 45 countries.

The brand has recently gained exposure due to an appearance in Gossip Girl (one of the Paris episodes in season 4), and one of their dresses being worn by both Alexa Chung and Blake Lively.

The American designer Lauren Moffatt was born in Philadelphia and graduated from the Chestnut Hill College, with a major in Fine Arts. At 24, she moved to New York to pursue her dream of becoming a fashion designer, and in 2000 she launched a ready to wear collection, inspired by her love for vintage clothing. For the first two seasons, the clothes were sewn by the designer herself.
