Final Fantasy characters get dressed in Prada clothes

Lightning, Noel, Snow, Sazh and Hope, characters of the latest version of the Final Fantasy video game have replaced their customary warrior outfits by looks of the Prada Spring/Summer 2012 collection. This claim could seem a nonsense but, actually, that is not sciencie-fiction; in fact, the video games and fashion industries -that so far had been very different and disconnected fields- are now collaborating; the reason is simple: The successful video game saga is turning 25 this year.

The most important characters of Final Fantasy XIII-2 have become models to participate as the stars of a photo shooting made by the masculine magazine Arena Homme+. “Our Spring issue focuses on a world of direction and escapism, and having a visually stunning video game franchise such as Final Fantasy work alongside us and a leading fashion brand like Prada to create something so unique is incredible,”  Max Pearmain -editor of Arena Homme+- explained.

Nigeria Celebrated its Fashion Week

Fashion with African influence has been seen for a long while now, ranging from Yves St. Laurent collections in the 1960s to Proenza Schouler and Derek Lam collections for the Spring 2012 season.  But now African designers are using more and more their origins and international trends to attract the attention in the worldwide fashion industry.

The Fashion Week organized by the ARISE magazine in Lagos turned its second year with a special emphasis in African designers and those who has been inspired by Africa. Seventy seven designers offered several items that combined traditional cloths with international aesthetic styles; they transformed ordinary things into elegant items and were able to show a small sample of haute couture at a hotel transmuted into a fashion paradise isolated from the noise of Lagos, which certainly is a megacity.

The fashion company headed by Karl Lagerfeld has introduced an advertising campaign for its Spring / Summer 2012 collection -which was showed last September during a fashion show in Paris-. After some recents haute couture exhibitions in the fashion world, Chanel is now transporting us straight to the French Riviera in order to show us its more ethereal, femenine, and elegant designs with the sea as background to create a relaxed atmosphere and produce some black and white pictures where, in fact, these two colors are the main features of the clothing items.
