Calvin Klein at the New York Fashion Week – Fall-Winter 2009/10

Some months ago, Calvin Klein presented its collection for spring-summer 2009. It is based on the geometric shapes and futurism (sci-fi). This week, CK introduced its new fall-winter collection with a more sophisticated perspective. Fabrics and textures are the strong points of this collection: geometric shapes, asymmetric cuts, pleats and soft details that are used carefully. All the pieces are soft and elegant. Definitely, a very suitable collection.
Black color is the common thread of these proposals made by Francisco Costa for the next fall-winter season (2009/10). Two-piece suits with pants, or skirts that fall below the knee, with lapels in different sizes or vibrant citron touches. The ice-white color made its appearance to try to impose a concept of using two main colors for the next fall-winter season, although that has not been a common feature of the fashion shows during this New York Fashion Week.
As usual, this collection includes straight cut dresses with elegant necklines, which is a traditional style that is used by Calvin Klein regularly. They are really graceful, suitable and can be used as cocktail dresses. Recently, some celebrities like Eva Mendes have been seen wearing this type of dress.
Pants come in a capri style (mid-calf length), so the boots can be shown. Also included in this collection are coats with big geometric cuts, dresses in a shiny yellow cloth, and little-black dresses. This is a rigorous, defined and precise collection but also it is a sexy collection. Nicely done.
