Accessorize with Aldo, Fall-Winter 2010-2011
Aldo accessories are known for being stylish and of high quality. For fall, Aldo grouped their collection into four different trends.
First of all, there is the Victorian trend – Alice in Wonderland meets Queen Victoria – with light, shabby tones, lace and tulle, ruffles and bows. We have high-heeled shoes in jewel tones, velvet, satin and other precious, feminine textures, as well as the classic governess lace-up booties. Small purses go nicely with this type of shoes, and so do the vintage inspired brooches and headbands. Masculine, simple design is dominant in men’s footwear.
Then we have military inspiration. The combat boot has been reinterpreted, resulting in this cool, very high-heeled boot, with buckles and laces or metal buttons. Studs are also a great detail, especially if you want shoes with an edge. Some camouflage print is used and the main colors are khaki, olive and brown. This also goes for handbags and jewelry – studded purses and bangles, brooches that imitate medals and so on.
Another trend this season at Aldo is minimalism. This is based on simple design and a glance towards the future. Knee length boots, wedges, rubber boots, clear, neutral colors, all make use of as little details as possible, while focusing on the whole.
Aldo is also inspired by its American heritage for the fall-winter collection. Astrakhan lining, hiking boots, updated cowboy boots, the worn-out aspect – these create a preppy, traditional look that mixes fashion and functionality, feminine and masculine traits. The handbags in this category look cute and comfy with their faux-fur lining and leather or suede fronts.
