Carolina Herrera – Fall/winter 2012 collection

After seeing the designs of  Carolina Herrera Pre-Fall 2012 collection, we already can see the looks included in her new fall/winter collection for this year.

As always, elegance and distinction are main features of each piece designed by Carolina Herrera; but this collection in particular has very contemporary, fresh and quite chic clothing pieces.

The inspiration of this collection comes from the divas of the 1950s. For that reason, we can see glamour and very voluminous designs through big coats or quite furry vests, which is one of the trends that will be back in fashion during the upcoming fall/winter season.

But not all is bulky designs in this collection, since C.H. creates a perfect balance in her looks, producing a delicate profile this way.

The chosen colors include shades of gray, white, black, nude, purple, emerald green and wine red. As always happens with Carolina Herrera, the items of the collection range from looks to go to work to casual looks to cocktail looks.

Skirts and knee-length coats, skinny pants just above the ankle -some of them made of leather-, pleated dresses and pleated skirts also can be seen in this designs set.

Two curious things of this collection is the use of long gloves in several of its designs as well as the trend of pointed heels.

Also, it’s very interesting to note the use of big handbags and maxi handbags accompanying most of the looks of this collection, including even some cocktail looks.

The new clothing pieces come in some great and very subtle combinations, although you can see a little bit of bravery in these combinations when mixing a lot of colors on the same look or when the sobriety of an elegant color such as black is challenged in a dress by combining it with another piece (for example a pair of gloves) in a vibrant shade of pink, which is not a usual combination at all.

Very few looks using blouses and pants were included here. Skirts and dresses are the prominent items of this collection, making it a very feminine catalog.

In the pictures of the advertising campaign, we can see models with a look resembling the 1950s with short, blonde colored and voluminous haircuts, emphasizing this way the trend Carolina Herrera is setting on the pieces of this new collection.
