The people over at J. Crew prepared lots of surprises to make it easier for you to shop with them. Besides gender and age targeted gift guides, they also managed to gather some interesting people together and ask them would they would like for Christmas, from the J. Crew store, of course. The result is a series of wish lists/gift guides that are surely going to inspire you. Some of the people who were asked to put together a wish list are Martha Stewart, Lauren Hutton and Selima Salaun, each showing their own personal style while browsing the versatile pieces from J. Crew.
The Fall-Winter 2011 ready-to-wear collection consisted of masculine-inspired clothes, beautiful outerwear with a focus on capes, warm tones like orange, red and ochre combined with hot ones like pink, classic prints and an overall street style. While we loved the collection and found it stunning, we also like what they have prepared especially for winter: the Winter Wonderland line. It’s a small and warm line that you’re gonna love, not only because it’s perfect for this time of the year, but also because today – on Black Friday – everything is 50%. You know you are a print enthusiast when there are so many prints in your closet, you can’t make an outfit without mixing and matching prints. You know you are a print enthusiast when you have a pair of Miu Miu cat print heels, an animal print faux-fur coat, floral print tights, striped long sleeves in any color and at least one 50s inspired polka dot dress – to name only the essentials. And since you seem to be loving prints so much, here is what the British brand Nadinoo designed for the Fall-Winter season of 2011 – 2012.
In our previous post, we gave you some tips on what to but for the significant women in your life. Whether you have little savings or plan on splurging, you can surely find some good ideas on what to get for your mother, sister, best friend, wife, daughter or cousin for Christmas. Check that post here: Gift ideas for any budget – for women.
With the holidays just around the corner, we’ve already started thinking about decorations, three-course meals, taking the time off from work and, of course, gifts. Whether you have a lot of money to spend, or you’re tight on the budget, we found some things that we think you might like. Accordingly, we separated our gift ideas into gifts for men and gifts for women, each section having a subsection for cash (things under $100, that you can easily buy) and credit (splurge! a nice gift and a smile on someone’s face is more important than money). There’s also a small section for children, but more on that later.
The line Thom. Dolan was launched in 2010, and it’s the brand of Thomasine Dolan. Thomasine had 20 years of experience in the fashion industry, before she started her own label, and she’s worked for all the important brands, like Giorgio Armani, Banana Republic, Bill Brass or Ralph Lauren.
It may not be the season to be jolly – yet – but several brands have launched their holiday campaigns, look books, or they’ve been at least teasing with sneak peeks of what’s to come. Some say it’s never too soon to start shopping for Christmas, to make wishlists or at least lists of gift ideas for your loved ones. We don’t completely agree, but we agree that November is a good time to start. Even though it’s not even Thanksgiving yet, you can start thinking what you’ll wear for the New Year’s Eve party, who you’ll kiss under the mistletoe and what presents will rest under the Christmas tree.
The Swedish brand H&M isn’t wasting any time: soon after the launch of their collection in collaboration with Versace (see more about Versace for H&M here), they’ve released a new look book, designed especially for winter 2011 – 2012. The star of the campaign is no other than Frida Gustavsson, who was also featured in their Conscious collection this fall, alongside Caroline Brasch Nielsen. Frida is pretty busy this season, with campaigns for Max Mara, Juicy Couture, Prada and editorials for dozens of magazines.
