On Friday, the Olympics start in Beijing, China, and fashion world doesn’t want to stay out of this, especially when the event will be seen by a huge audience around the world. Italian fashion house Prada has launched a special limited edition collection, with the colors of the Olympic rings. It is a line of sport handbags, T-shirts, key rings and make-up bags to make a tribute to the sports and using images of the traditional and funny teddy bear. On the other hand, Ralph Lauren introduced the official new sport collection for the Olympics, which includes a polo line that will be worn by American athletes during the Beijing games. Soon, the collection will be available in the stores with basic and neutral colors, which are combined with black and red.

Wal-Mart adds a new facet to its fine jewellery lines: traceability

Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. has launched Love, Earth(R) jewelry, which is its first line of completely traceable fine jewelry, only available in Wal-Mart stores, Sam’s Club locations and on Walmart.com and Samsclub.com. The new line, that changes the way how the affordably-priced fine jewelry is made and sold, is the result of the collaboration between Wal-Mart, Conservation International (CI) and Walmart’s supply chain partners. It will give customers the ability to trace the path of their Love, Earth jewelry from mine to store by using Internet.

Some days ago in New York, the Spanish company “Jeanologia”, a world leader in laser treatment and development in garment finishing processes, introduced an innovative technique that, by means of the use of laser technology, allows to clone jeans. This technique is already used in 8% of the jeans that are worn by people in the world. It has been used by the Spanish firm since four years ago to make pants and other denim clothing, which are made in 43 countries around the world.
